Mouse Speed & Acceleration Test
Move your mouse inside the box to measure speed and detect acceleration
What is Mouse Acceleration?
Mouse acceleration (also called "pointer precision" in Windows) changes how far your cursor travels based on how fast you move your mouse, rather than just the physical distance. A fast flick sends the cursor further than a slow movement over the same physical distance. This inconsistency makes it hard to build reliable muscle memory for gaming.
How This Test Works
The test measures cursor speed in pixels-per-second in real time. It also samples slow and fast movements to compare how many pixels are reported per unit of physical distance. If the ratio changes between slow and fast movement, acceleration is active. If the ratio stays consistent, you have raw input (no acceleration).
How to Disable Acceleration
Windows: Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Mouse → Additional mouse settings → Pointer Options → uncheck "Enhance pointer precision"
macOS: Use a terminal command: defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1 or third-party tools like LinearMouse
In-game: Many games have a "raw input" option — always enable it for competitive play
